It’s March and that means it’s Women’s History Month!
We are excited to celebrate and encourage women in sport throughout the month and welcome you to join us. Over the last year we have brought in some exciting brands that also happen to be female or partially female owned. Here is a little bit about them!
Jill Deering and Monica DeVreese start Rabbit on a quest to design running clothes that fit properly to a variety of female bodies and build confidence on the move. As stated, “The two women quickly transformed their four decades of combined passion for running, their industry and business savvy, into a bold new vision.” After bringing Rabbit into the shop in 2024, it has quickly grown into one of our staff’s go to brands for comfortable run-wear.
Jennifer Ferguson started Handful, a women’s sports bra company after developing frustration about a lack of comfortable bras for support on the move. Handful is a favorite of many staff members for the comfort it provides, not only in daily life but during activity.
Founded by Paula and Philip Pavkov, ALWRLD is setting a new standard for environmental standards in active apparel. As mentioned on their website, “They lead by blending style, luxe fabrics, elevated details and performance to set the new benchmark in apparel for the dynamic life.”
In addition to these amazing brands we work with, let’s also highlight that Aardvark Sports Shop is now partially women-owned with new owners Sheena and Andy Wells leading the charge!
We are looking forward to highlighting different female stories throughout the month. Join us in kicking things off with our International Women’s Day trail run and hike on March 9th. We will be collaborating with Brooks Running, Trail Sisters Lehigh Valley and The Running Kind for the event, with multiple giveaways for the women that attend! More information on the event can be found here.
If you are a woman on the run, we would love to support you in your movement journey! Throughout March, tag us on social @aardvarksportsshop with the hashtag #runningwithher as we highlight the ladies getting out on the run this month!
